I am a qualified accountant, being a member of the National Institute of Accountants since 1979 and working in commercial accounting since 1970. I am also qualified in computers with a Graduate Diploma in Information Systems from Charles Sturt University.

My experience in accounting is vast, particularly in commerce and the setting up of computer accounting and management information systems. Some of the large organisations I have worked for include Dalgety's, Blue Metal Industries (now Boral), Monier Concrete, Edgell Birds Eye, and Causmag International. I have also worked for a number of small to medium sized companies as well as in my own business. Here we offered a range of services to assist businesses become more profitable and proficient, however the main focus was on the installation of computerised accounting systems which enabled these organisations to monitor their accounting progress month by month and thus assist in enhancing their profitability.

Analysis of current accounting system and advice on the type of system required

Installation of in house accounting packages. These packages will vary depending on requirements, however we have experience in MYOB, Attache, Sybiz, Enterprise and others. This includes on the job assistance with training. We can arrange computer/software deals which have significant cost savings on hardware.Off site bookkeeping for businesses that do not wish to have computers in house. Monthly/weekly visits to advise customers on their business. This is done following setup and assists with the reading of profit and loss, balance sheets etc.Supply of software and setting up of spreadsheets to assist with such things as budgeting and cash flows. Specialised programming. This is for clients who have specific needs and find that an accounting package will not suffice. Advice, investigation and installation of industry specific software packages e.g. building estimating software etc. Other consulting services such as preparation of business plans.
